City of Ypsilantiofficials are looking for "creative ways" to get people to stop speeding through neighborhoods.
Traditional methods don't seem to be working, according to many homeowners in Ypsilanti, so they are appealing to city officials to do something else to deal with motorists speeding their neighborhoods.
Beth Ernatis the city's economic development director, who has suggested some unusual signs to get motorists to slow down.
"[Signs] such as 'Rodent Crossing,' or something that would be out of the ordinary but would cause people to slow down and read the sign."
Ypsilanti city officials are considering the idea of using alternative signage and will look at other communities where the signs are already in place.
