Washtenaw County Sheriff Office To Host Follow Up Community Conversations

As a follow up to acommunity town hall meeting last July, the Washtenaw County Sheriff is planning a series of educational sessions for citizens to help keep them connected and informed.

Washtenaw County Sheriff Jerry Clayton will facilitate 3 upcoming community forums that will include a 40- minute discussion on a number of different topics including hiring, use of force and managing interpersonal interactions.  Each session will be followed by a question and answer period.  Sheriff Clayton says the planned events are intended to help them to determine what to do next in addressing citizen concerns.

The sheriff says the goal of the upcoming citizen events is to engage in thoughtful and deliberate dialogued that makes a different in police and citizen interactions. The first event will be held on September 14th, and those hoping to attend are asked to RSVP to the Sheriff's Department.
