With the official Ann Arbor Art Fair back on, several local artists will hold their own neighborhood preview arts events the weekend of June 11-13.

WEMU's Lisa Barry talks with Sophie Grillet, one of the organizers of the Westside Art Hop, and Leslie Sobelfrom an upcoming art pop-up about the two upcoming events happening in different parts of Ann Arbor on the same weekend.

A cross between an art walk and an art fair, the annual Westside Art Hop springs from Ann Arbor Michigan's lovely historic West side neighborhood. Mostly local, but also national and international artists participate. Many volunteer local hosts, over fifty exhibiting artists, and of course, art-loving visitors, browsers and buyers, all enjoy a great day out!

They are still being cautious about COVID. If you are not fully vaccinated, they're asking you to wear a mask for the indoors portions of the sale in particular.

The pop-up event will have work in a range of styles and price-points. Work includes cast resin furniture, mixed media assemblage, silk scarves, resin jewelry, and paintings and prints - all in Susan's fabulous ArtHouse filled with mosaics and murals by her and her son Sam Fecteau Brown. Leslie says there will be a lot of art that is "fish-related" but also a variety of other art items.
