Windy conditions continue today and it's causing an increasing number of power outages. DTE Energy spokesperson Alejandro Bodipo-Memba tells WEMU about six-thousand Washtenaw County customers are without electricity.
Oakland County is hardest hit with 48-thousand out. Wayne County has 19-thousand in the dark.
More than 300-power lines have been knocked down in the region because of the winds that, at times, have exceeded 50-miles per hour. Wind and weather conditions will continue to hamper restoration efforts.
The Washtenaw County Sheriff's Department reports a number of trees and branches bowled over by the gusting winds, and a lot of debris being blown across area roadways. Because of the outages, a number of intersections are without traffic lights and are being treated as four way stops.
DTE now believes it will take through the day tomorrow to fully restore power.
