Lisa Barry spoke with state Supreme Court Justice Bridget McCormack about the court's involvement in educating the public about the adoption process.

Michigan Adoption Day is aimed at raising awareness and encouraging potential adoptive and foster parents to step forward.

McCormack said it's a celebration of adoption, but their purpose is to educate the public about the rewards of being an adoptive parent.

"Every child deserves a loving, forever home,” McCormack said.
