Ypsilanti residents can now weigh in on how the city's police department can improve by taking an online survey.
The survey is part of Ypsilanti Police Chief Tony DeGiusti’s plan to improve relations between residents and police officers.
Rasheed Atwater works for the Ypsilanti Planning Department. He helped create the survey and is leading outreach efforts for the city.
He says the survey will gather data from Ypsilanti residents on issues like,
“What they see in their neighborhood, what they want to see change, and their views on police. What they do like, what they don’t like, how they’re treated by police officers.”
The survey can be found here. Atwater says hard copies can be picked up and dropped off at Michigan Works and the Ypsilanti Senior Center.
