The next generation of cyber security professionals could be trained in Ypsilanti.

The university is one of four in Michigan to be accredited from the National Security Agency (NSA) and the Department of Homeland Security.

Sean Che is an assistant professor in EMU’s School of Information Security. He says this designation "provides a chance for an institution to distinguish themselves in information assurance and cyber defense education.”

Che says the designation will be an valuable asset to students of information security when applying for work after graduation. EMU will formally receive the accreditation at a ceremony in Philadelphia this summer.
