268,000 people are registered to vote in Washtenaw County.  Just how many of them are expected to vote in the Michigan primary presidential election?

30% is what the WashtenawCounty Election Department is projecting.

Director of elections EdGolembiewski says it will be a historically high presidential primary turnout, because there is not a sitting president on both sides that's eligible for re-election.

As a result, both parties currently have an active nomination process.  Since that process is so active, Golembiewski believes more Democrats in Washtenaw County will vote in the primary election.

During the last couple of presidential primary elections in Washtenaw County, the turnout was between 15 and 20%.
