As the summer travel season gets underway, local law enforcement officials will be conducting their annual crackdown on seat belt use.
The "Click it or Ticket" campaign for Michigan motorists means, state police, sheriff officials, and local police officers will be conducting extra patrols to encourage seat belt use.
Ann Readett is communications manager for the Michigan Office of Highway Safety Planning. She says what the program is all about.
"[It's about] changing behavior, not about writing tickets. But, we'll have extra officers out there as a little extra reminder and incentive to make those really safe choices."
