Ann Arbor's city council is getting closer to regulating the operation of pedal pubs in the downtown area.

The city will continue to allow pedal pub passengers to consume alcohol while riding the open-air vehicles that can transport up to twelve people on tours.

But a revised ordinance with other regulations could get final approval on June20th.

Council member Chip Smith from the 5th ward explains.

"Define the streets they are allowed to go on. Set-up a process for registration and set-up requirements for hours of operation."

Pedal pub owners do not provide the alcohol for their passengers.
