The University of Michigan Board of Regentsapproved a general fund budget of $1.94 billion for next school year.
Tuition for in-state undergraduates will rise by 3.9% this fall. That’s compared to a 2.7% tuition hike the university’s Board of Regents approved last year.
In a statement, U-M Spokesman Rick Fitzgerald says, with more financial aid available, the lowest rise in the cost of attendance by $114 for undergraduate students.
Tuition for out-of-state freshman will increase by 4.4%. Overall, the university adopted a $7.5 billion operating budget for the 2017 school year.
