Love, Life & Loss: A New Documentary Featuring U-M's Men's Glee Club Honors The Loss of Lives

The University of Michigan Men's Glee Club is the focus of a documentary called "Love, Life, & Loss" airing tonight on Detroit Public Television.

The film focuses on the club's efforts to get people talking about race relations and social justice by pairing orchestral music with the reported last words of 7 unarmed black men that were shot to death.

"For me, its one example of many on how the arts can facilitate the conversation on really challenging issues," says the glee club's director Eugene Rogers.

Julian Goods is a member of the glee club, and says performing this piece was like no other.

"Regardless of the circumstances, no one should have to lose their life in this way, and for many of the victims, at such a young age," Goods says.

The documentary airs tonight at 8 p.m.
