Eastern Michigan University is receiving $200,000 to help renovate some its Science, Technology, Engineering and Math, or STEM, facilities.
The money was donated by theWashtenaw Education Options Consortium, a multi-school district organization that helps high school students earn college credit through its Early College Allianceprogram.
David Duggeris the organization’s executive director. He says the money will be used to help update and modernize EMU’sStrong Hall.
"Fixing all those sort of outdated things from the floor to the bathrooms to the plumbing, but a significant percentage of the money is going towards some lab renovations."
Strong Hall is part of EMU’s Science Complex and currently houses a fourth of the college’s STEM lab classrooms.
