Through the course of this week, Governor Rick Snyder has released some ambitious plans for environmental policy for his final year in office.  WEMU’s David Fair caught up with James Clift, Policy Director of the Michigan Environmental Council, to discuss the plans and whether any of it will actually make it into policy.

During Governor Rick Snyder’s State of the State address in January, he was brief on environmental issues, but he announced a week announcements regarding infrastructure and the environment.  Here is how the week has played out:

Monday, Jan. 29th – Ubiquitous Broadband Access and Adoption (non-environmental)

Tuesday, Jan. 30th – Renewing our Environment

Wednesday, Jan. 31st – Protecting our Waterways

Thursday, Feb. 1st – Rebuilding Michigan’s Water Infrastructure

Friday, Feb. 2nd – Protecting our Environment and Achieving our Recycling Rate Goals (To be released later today)
