As of Monday, parking enforcement is active again in the City of Ypsilanti.
It’s the first time that parking regulations have been enforced, since mid-March when the city stopped many of its in-person operations because of COVID-19. Drivers who fail to follow parking time-limits or parking signage guidelines in general will be ticketed. Bonnie Wessler is a project manager for the city and says, as of now, enforcement will not take place in certain parts of Depot Town where new parking kiosks will be installed.
Bonnie Wessler: We’re still getting signage up and meters up for the new rollout, so I don’t anticipate those will be taking effect until August, September.
However, Wessler says the area directly in front of the food co-op in Depot Town will continue to be enforced since no changes will take place there.
