Michigan author Patti Smith explains the 45-year history of Ann Arbor's original food co-op, which began in 1971.  Her new book, titled A History of Ann Arbor's Food Co-op, explains how the community-based food market evolved from a volunteer collection of six items for sale to where it is today.

Patti Smith will be speaking at the Ann Arbor Public Library Thursday, July 28th at 7pm about the book.
