The troubled Ypsilanti Heritage Festival is going to take place later this summer, thanks to the help of two volunteers.

The two volunteers are stepping up after the Festival's board of directors voted recently to end the annual event due to numerous problems including financial losses.

The two said they are most concerned about the other community organizations that depend on the festival to fund their own efforts.

They're in the process of finding sponsors and getting the necessary permits to hold the Ypsilanti Heritage Festival.  It is tentatively on the city's calendar for August 25th thru the 27th.
