It's not easy to describe exactly what FestiFools and FOOLmoon, which take place each spring in Ann Arbor, are all about.  89.1 WEMU's Lisa Barry talks with artist and organizer Mark Tucker and University of Michigan artist-in-residence Lavinia Hanachiucabout the annual public arts event coming up in early April.

FOOLmoon will take place at Ann Arbors Farmers Market in Kerrytown on April 5th from dusk until 10pm.  FestiFOOLs will continue their FOOL-ish march down Main Street in downtown Ann Arbor on April 7th at 4pm.

For the uninitated, FestiFools could be Ann Arbor's answer to Mardi Gras.  Event founder Mark Tucker describes it as "creative mayhem" with a lot of music and giant, paper-mache puppets, which Lavinia Hanachiuc has provided for the last eight years.  Local volunteers and U-M students help out with the festitivies as well.
