This week, "Art and Soul" is about the art of well being.  89.1 WEMU's Lisa Barry talks to Dr. Jerry Davis, a professor at the University of Michigan Ross School of Business and Associate Dean of Business and Impact.  He will be one of the speakers at the upcoming Positive Business Conference at the Ross School of Business talking about "leading positive change without authority."

Dr. Jerry Davis believes that no one should have to leave their values at home when coming in to work.  Employees can, in fact, use those values to improve their own work environment.

Davis says to create a better work environment, it comes down to four steps:

  1. Why now? (Establishing an appropriate timeframe to create positive change)
  2. Why? (as in why it's important to make postive change)
  3. Who? (Who are the right people to speak to, who would make good allies, etc.)
  4. How? (Making a plan to initiate these changes)

The Positive Business Conference takes place May 9th and 10th at the U-M Ross School of Business.  To learn more and to register, click here.
