Ahead of Tomorrow's Election, the Village of Dexter Looks Inward

Supporters and opponents of the Village of Dexter continue to discuss the possibility of becoming a city. Both sides share a love for Dexter, but they are unsure of what becoming a city will mean for them individually, or as a community.

Ultimately, voters are asked to decide if they want to find out what proposals the City Council Commission would make, or if they definitely want to remain a village and end the process now. Hear the full story from WEMU's Andrew Cluley.

Dexter cityhood information can be found here at the Dexter website.

Like many, I first came to this area when I started school at the University of Michigan, then fell in love with the community and haven’t left. After graduating from U of M in the mid 1990’s I interned at WDET for several years, while also working a variety of jobs in Ann Arbor. Then in 1999 I joined the WEMU news team.
