Voters To Elect Washtenaw County Board Of Commissioners Next Week

Washtenaw County

Washtenaw County voters will decide next Tuesday who will represent them during the next two years on the Washtenaw County Board of Commissioners.

All nine districts have contested races.  In seven of them, incumbents are seeking reelection.  Districts four and five will have new representation no matter the outcome of the election.  County Clerk Larry Kestenbaum explains why.

County Clerk Larry Kestenbaum: The fourth district, currently held by Felicia Brabec, Felicia Brabec is running for state representative. And in the fifth district, Ruth Ann Jamnick is retiring.

Kestenbaum says that the race in District Three may be close.  Historically, it was held by a Republican commissioner until 2018 when Democrat Shannon Beeman won the election.  She is now being challenged by Republican Ken Siler.
