Culture Cures and History Heals

Culture Cures and History Heals
Hosted in partnership with No Harm and the Black Scrolls Network, the event aims to honor Detroit’s rich musical legacy while providing Black men and their families a safe and welcoming place to explore healing, healthy relationships and cultural pride.
The Culture Cures and History Heals event kicks off with a complimentary community continental breakfast featuring music rooted in Detroit, accompanying meet and greets, giveaways and welcoming remarks, before sending the men on their journey. While a preselected group of men embark on a guided bus tour exploring Detroit’s African American history, the SASHA Lane space, located in the Avalon Healing Center, will provide engaging family programming such as workshops on housing stability and relationship safety, poetry and journaling sessions, karaoke and musical film screenings and games, coloring stations and mindfulness activities for ages 16 and up.
Bus tour spots are full, but registration remains open for the day’s programming at SASHA Lane.
