The Senior Living Week EXPO, presented by Housing Bureau for Seniors, a program of Community Health Services of Michigan Medicine, will take place on Saturday, October 15, at the Morris Lawrence Building at Washtenaw Community College, 4800 E. Huron River Drive in Ann Arbor.

The EXPO, which will take place in person for the first time since 2019, kicks
off in-person, virtual, and hybrid Senior Living Week events all around Washtenaw County October 16-22.
The EXPO will feature educational presentations and vendors, free flu and pneumonia shots, an unused medication drop off, and counseling on medical bills, health insurance and open enrollment period.

“For many years, Senior Living Week has been the cornerstone of resources for our aging population in Washtenaw County,” said Housing Bureau for Seniors Director Janet Hunko. “In 2022 we are excited to bring back the in-person EXPO and the weeklong series of valuable and informative presentations to the community.”

Events during the week will include Internet safety presentations, as well as events focusing on how technology can enhance the quality of life for older adults, on health, and on financial and legal issues.

By 2045, Southeast Michigan’s senior population is expected to increase by 29% resulting in more than 850,000 seniors in Livingston, Macomb, Monroe, Oakland, St. Clair, and Washtenaw Counties. Senior Living Week provides a prime opportunity for both seniors and the organizations that serve them to connect.
