Snyder, Paulson to discuss foreign investment today
Governor Rick Snyder and former U.S. Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson are expected to discuss how foreign direct investment can benefit Michigan and the Detroit area.
They will speak Monday afternoon during a Detroit Economic Club event at Ford Field.
The talk also will focus on how the state and the Detroit area can attract more international investment.
Paulson served as Treasury secretary from 2006 to 2009. He is chair of The Paulson Institute, a non-partisan institution working to advance global environmental protection and sustainable economic growth in the U.S. and China, while promoting broader understanding between the two countries.
In April, the Council of Great Lakes Governors announced a partnership with the Chicago-based institute to recruit foreign manufacturing investment to the region.
