Governor Rick Snyder gave his final State of the State address last night.  He took the opportunity to announce a series of initiatives.

Five new plans in five days.  That’s what Michiganders can expect from Governor Snyder next week.  The initiatives will be focused on infrastructure and the environment.

In one of the most passionate parts of his speech, the governor said one initiative will tackle invasive species in the Great Lakes

“If the federal government isn’t going to do it, or they’re not gonna do it, let’s get together as Michiganders and invest where we need to to protect the Great Lakes.”

Other initiatives will focus on increasing rural broadband internet access and recycling.
