The stalemate over road funding continues in the Michigan Legislature.  Jake Neher has the details.


State representatives Todd Courser and Cindy Gamrat engaged in misconduct and misused taxpayer resources. State House Speaker Kevin Cotter (R-Mt. Pleasant) says those are preliminary findings of a House Business Office investigation into a sex-and-cover-up scandal involving the lawmakers.

State House Republicans could introduce legislation to boost road funding as soon as this week.

Eighteen schools in Detroit were closed Thursday due to staffing shortages. Teachers and other school personnel took the day off to head to Lansing to protest Governor Rick Snyder’s plan to overhaul the district. The plan includes enabling more charter schools to open in the city.
