Cruelty investigators with the Humane Society of Huron Valley expect to file a report with the county prosecutor's office next week on the stabbing of a dog during a heated domestic dispute in Ann Arbor.
The incident happened Wednesday night in a home where a family consisting of two adults and two teens live.
Investigators say the dog bit, trying to protect its owner during the brawl. The dog was then put in a crate, where several reports indicate a teenaged boy tried to choke it, and then stabbed it numerous times in the chest while another family member was on the phone to 9-1-1.
The dog was rushed to an emergency animal hospital, but it had lost too much blood and suffered critical injuries. The dog had to be euthanized.
