State Bill Would Cut Time To Collect Petition Signatures To 180 Days
A bill in a Michigan House committee would severely limit the amount of time petition organizers have to collect signatures.
The bill would change the time frame on gathering signatures from up to four years to 180 days.
“It would limit was is supposed to be up to four years to collect signatures to just 180 days, so it would be eliminating 87.5% of the time currently allotted for petitioners to get their signatures.”
Ann Arbor Representative Jeff Irwin is on the House committee that is currently overseeing the bill.
