The Ford Motor Company is trying to help match local veterans with meaningful jobs.

It organized a job fair at Ford Field in Detroit today from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. with the help of the military-to-civilian recruitment firm Recruit-Military.

Laura Kurtz is Ford's manager of salaried recruiting.

"This particular career fair is really aimed towards helping veterans network with employers and learn how they can translate their military experiences into the professional, civilian workplace."

Kurtz says they've been able to help many veterans find meaningful work through their previous initiatives.
