Former U.S. Secretary Of State Madeleine Albright Visits Ann Arbor On Behalf Of Hillary Clinton

Jorge Avellan

Former U.S. Secretary of State Madeleine Albrightmade a campaign stop for Hillary Clinton this morning in Ann Arbor.

"I really, really am so pleased to speak on behalf of Hillary, who is the most prepared candidate to be president."

The former Secretary of State told a group of over 50 residents--mostly women--that while Hillary Clinton's popularity rate has gone up, the fight to win the White House is not over yet.

When I asked what she thinks about critics when they say Clinton is only getting support from some women because she is a woman, Albright responded with the following.

"Her position on issues, that's what they should vote on, are the issues. And those that concern women is equal pay for equal work. Also, just in generally in terms of healthcare, issues for women for freedom of choice."

The intimate gathering took place at the home of one of Clinton's supporters.  Janine Easter from Ann Arbor attended the event and says that having a woman president in the United States is long overdue.

"I'm from Switzerland originally. We had three women presidents. Nobody thinks anything of it, just kind of normal nowadays."

Albright credits Hillary Clinton with her becoming the first woman Secretary of State in the U.S.
