Yousef Ajin, the Ann Arbor father who was facing deportation, will be allowed to stay in the United States. A rally was held before an immigration hearing took place.
About 300 supporters rallied outside of the McNamara federal building in downtown Detroit. That's where the immigration hearing took place.
Keysha Wall from the group Stop Trump Ann Arbor helped organized the rally.
"He's proven to be a model citizen, and there is no reason for him to be separated from his family like this."
Ajin was detained by immigration while meeting with federal officials about getting his citizenship. He's got a felony conviction on his record for unlawful possession of a financial transaction device from over a decade ago. Ajin immigrated from Jordan.
