There will be a new prosecuting Attorney in Washtenaw County.  Brian Mackie decided against seeking reelection.  Mackie had held the post since first winning in the November 1992 election.  There were three candidates running in the Democratic primary race on Tuesday.  Hugo Mack, Eli Savit and Arianne Slay.

Savit garnered a little over 50-percent of the vote and that was good enough for the win.  Slay picked up nearly 43-percent support while Mack lagged well behind with less than 7-percent.  Savit has no Republican opposition in November.
