There will be no deer cull in Ann Arbor this year.

For the second year in a row, City Council has voted to completely defund the program as part of its budget process.

Mayor Christopher Taylor says that will free up $120,000 for use in other projects.

“We’ll be using deer cull money to improve pedestrian safety and education outreach efforts,” Taylor says.

Mayor Taylor says they’ll also use some of the money to pay for a new city officer to address diversity, equity, and inclusion.
