Ann Arbor City Council member Jane Lumm celebrated her re-election last night.
Lumm beat challenger Sally Hart Peterson with 64% of the vote. At her campaign party at Paesano Restaurant on Washtenaw Avenue, Lumm says she did not expect to gain such a wide margin against Peterson.
She says she’s already preparing for challenges that Ann Arbor will face during the next few years. One is managing large development projects in the city and the other is filling several top level vacancies in city government, including the hire of an administrator and a new chief of police. She says it "will certainly be something that will require our due diligence and attention as a council."
Lumm says she’s looking forward to representing Ward 2 residents in Ann Arbor for another term.
