University Of Michigan Group Encouraging Students To Vote In Tuesday's Primary Election

Turn Up Turnout

With days before next Tuesday’s primary election, the University of Michigan’s nonpartisan group Turn Up Turnout continues to encourage students to vote.

COVID-19 caused Turn Up Turnout to shift most of its get out the vote campaign efforts from in-person activities to social media, email, and their website.  Edie Goldenberg is the founder of the group and explains another tactic they’re using.

Edie Goldenberg: We have hotlines established for individual questions from students about voter registration or absentee ballot request, or anything else that concerns their election.

Turn Up Turnout is also working with the deans from all the university departments to remind students through email to vote on Tuesday.  You can find more information about the group’s hotlines on their website.
