Blue LLama Jazz Club

In every music scene in Detroit and throughout Michigan, Don Was is a legend. He's a musician, producer, film composer and the president of Blue Note Records. Was has formed a new band called the Pan-Detroit Ensemble, and they're coming to play the Blue LLama Jazz Club in Ann Arbor in February 2025. Was found time to speak to WEMU's Jeremy Baldwin about his career and what his plans are for the New Year on a special edition of the Roots Break!

Joshua Redman is one of the most accomplished saxophonists and band leaders in all of jazz. For his latest album, "where are we," he charts new territory by collaborating with vocalist Gabrielle Cavassa on new variations of tunes that represent the whole of America. Redman discusses the album and his upcoming gig at Ann Arbor's Blue LLama Jazz Club with WEMU's Michael Jewett.
