License plate readers

License plate readers – or LPR’s – have been banned by the City of Ypsilanti. But next door, in Ypsilanti Township, the traffic cameras that photograph every vehicle that passes by aren’t on the agenda. WEMU's Josh Hakala reports.

Ypsilanti Township residents are objecting to the proposed installation of license plate readers in the area. Members of a social justice group say it is a privacy issue and will be tough to regulate. WEMU's Josh Hakala reports.

Automatic license plate readers will not be installed along the streets of Ypsilanti. As WEMU's Josh Hakala reports, Ypsilanti City Council voted Tuesday night to ban the technology.
