Unity Vibration

Doug Coombe / Concentrate Media

Over the last few years, the craft beer business has booming in Michigan.  Among the many breweries that have popped up across the state is Unity Vibration in Ypsilanti Township.  This particular brewery specializes in a fermented tea called kombucha.  Unity Vibration co-founder and owner Rachel Kanaan talks about her amazing work with WEMU's Lisa Barry and Concentrate Media's Sarah Rigg in this week's "On the Ground-Ypsi."

Jorge Avellan / WEMU

89.1 WEMU's Jorge Avellan found a business in Ypsilanti that produces something that's been around for thousands of years.  Now, with more flavor offerings and product lines, its popularity is only growing, thanks in part to a local compamy that has, for the most part, remained  "Hidden In Plain Sight."

A nationally-recognized local brewer of organic tea and beer has signed a letter of intent to move into the Thompson Block in Ypsilanti's Depot Town.

Unity Vibration currently operates out of a facility on Ecorse Road in Ypsilanti Township.

Early plans call for a kitchen and tasting room in the Thompson Block.

Draft Magazine named one of Unity Vibration's beers as one of the 25 best of 2013.

Zingerman's and Espresso Royale have also signed letters of intent to move into the Thompson Block.
