The National Weather Service will have its assessment team in Washtenaw County today to try and confirm an early morning tornado near Manchester.

The Washtenaw County Emergency Services division says the suspected  tornado touched down around 1:30am this morning. The winds it produced caused damage to several structures.  Several first-responders reported to the area of Bethel Church Road and M-52 including Michigan state Police, Washtenaw County Sheriff's Department, Manchester Fire Department  and Huron valley Ambulance. All area residents are accounted for and no injuries were immediately reported.  Further damage assessments will be conducted throughout the day.
