Despite increased efforts at the University of Michigan to deal with sexual assaults on campus, there's been an increase in the number of incidents.

There's been a 34 percent increase in reports of sexual misconduct on the University of Michigan campus from July of 2014 to June of 2015...compared to the year before.  The University released data saying there have been 172 reports of sexual misconduct including rape, sexual harassment, and complaints of stalking.

University officials. however, say 78 of the 172 reports don't fall within the scope of the university's policy and, in some cases, did not constitute sexual misconduct behavior.  Out of all the reports, there were 29 investigations, but U of M officials say they believe the increase in reports demonstrates enhanced awareness of sexual misconduct on campus.
