The outdoor festival season in Ann Arbor kicks off tonight with the tenth annual FestiFools celebration.

Best described as a "gigantic public art spectacular," thousands of people are expected to attend the Festi-Fools street party Friday night for an event known as "fool moon" and a parade of paper mache heads and puppets on Sunday.

Shary Brown, Board president of WonderFool Productions, describes what to expect.

"And these luminarians walk in processionals through downtown and from the neighborhoods, and then we all gather in this great big street party with all kinds of light-based installations."

Sunday's parade will be on Main Street in downtown Ann Arbor between Washington and William from 4 to 5pm and is free.
