Art & Soul: The Westside Art Hop, PowerArt!, And Summer Camps
In this edition, Omari Rush of the Ann Arbor Art Center and I make a visit to a very special home on the west side of Ann Arbor to talk about the visual arts in and around Ann Arbor.
The Westside Art Hopis one-day day art walk around the Old West Side of Ann Arbor, a neighborhood sale of art in homes, studios, porches and yards held on May 14th. You'll find painting, photography, glass, metal and wood sculpture, jewelry, cards, mosaics and fiber arts and crafts.
PowerArt!is a public art project managed by The Arts Alliance to install vinyl printed art reproductions from local artists on a total of 42 traffic boxes in downtown Ann Arbor. You can vote on the final selections for the PowerArt! public art and design project here.
Additionally, The Ann Arbor Art Center will be offering summer camp options for students this summer with a "Creativity Camp" to explore and experiment with a variety of different 2-D & 3-D mediums and "Summer Clay Camp" curriculum to teach pottery as well as explore ceramic as a material for design, sculpture and expression. Find more info about the camps here.
