Art & Soul - The Visual Arts: A Busy Time For Openings And Events

89.1 WEMU

This week on Art & Soul, I am joined by Omari Rush from the Ann Arbor Art Center and Lisa Herbert Borgsdorf, manager of public programs for the University of Michigan Museum of Art.

We discuss the visual arts activities going on right now in the Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti areas.

Lisa Borgsdorf tells us about all the activities happening now at UMMA.  She talks about a giant exhibition opening including After Hours, which is happening on March 10th.  The band Drew Schultz and The Broken Habits will be playing at the event, which is free and open to the public.

Borgsdorf also tells us about Victors for The Arts, an exhibition featuring pieces from the private art collections of University of Michigan alumni.  It is also free and open to the public.

It is Youth Art Month in Ann Arbor, and pieces from young artists will be featured in storefronts all over downtown Ann Arbor.  It will feature many different styles of art from local students.  A map of the exhibits can be found here.
