Eastern Michigan University
Eastern Michigan University

Combat veterans across America have many stories to tell, and an upcoming event will give them a chance to share them with the public.  In this week's "Focus on EMU," WEMU's Patrick Campion talks to Eastern Michigan University theatre arts professor Wallace Bridges, who is the event director of the "Stories of Service" event coming to Ann Arbor.

About Stories of Service

"Stories of Service: An Evening with Veterans at Hill Auditorium" is a special event where five combat veterans can tell their amazing stories, ranging from experiences stemming from World War II to the conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan.  It's part of the Michigan Fisher House campaign, which provides housing for veterans and their families, while loved ones are receiving medical treatment.  It takes place Monday, November 5th at 7:00 PM at Hill Auditorium on the University of Michigan campus (doors open at 6:30 PM).  The event is free, and donations to the Michigan Fisher House campaign will be accepted.

About Wallace Bridges

Wallace Bridges is a professor of theatre arts who has taught at Eastern Michigan University since 1992.  He has directed numerous productions at EMU, University of Michigan-Flint, and the Lawton Community Theatre in Oklahoma.  Bridges also served in the US Army as a pershing missile specialist in West Germany.
