Upcoming Visual Arts Events:

Works in Progress exhibit - Opens Friday, January 11

"Works in Progress" celebrates the beauty and chaos involved in designing and bringing functional works to life through fashion, graphic design, furniture, architecture, industrial design, and more.  The 24 selected participants include working professionals, students, and internationally exhibited designers.  The exhibition includes finished works, sketches, experiments, jigs, and process materials that provide a behind-the-scenes look at what goes on in the studio.

Straight Up at Alley Bar featuring Nichole Klein - Monday, January 27

"Straight Up" is back and kicking off 2019 with another pop-up exhibition at the Alley Bar, this time featuring the artwork of Nichole Klein. Nichole is a graduate of Eastern Michigan University. She lives and works in Hamilton, Michigan and is an oil painter with mostly representational work.

Artist Call for Entry -- Art Now 2019: Painting (Juror: Roula David)

Artists are invited to submit their work for "ART NOW: PAINTING."  This is the fifth annual exhibition in the Ann Arbor Art Center’s Art Now series.  Each year, on a rotating basis, the Art Center presents a media-focused exhibition as part of the series.  This year's exhibit features innovative work in painting.  This exhibition will highlight artists that employ traditional painting techniques, as well as artists who move across disciplines and push the boundaries of what defines contemporary painting, including through the application of hybrid processes and use of mixed media.
