Chicago/Detroit based pianist and bandleader Alexis Lombre kicks off the 2019 5:01 Jazz series for WEMU this fall. Alexis has performed with some of WEMU listener’s favorites like internationally renowned jazz musicians Ernest Dawkins, Ingrid Jensen, Kendrick Scott, James Carter, Marion Hayden, Gayelynn McKinney, Bobby Watson. Alexis studied with Geri Allen, Willie Pickens and former Jazz Messenger, Benny Green.
5:01 Jazz is a monthly free jazz show on the first Friday of each month during the school year.
