Later this month, there is going to be a celebration of artistic endeavor in Ypsilanti! It will include a one-of-a-kind processional from the Riverside Arts Center to the Freighthouse in Depot Town. On this week's “On the Ground Ypsi,” Rylee Barnsdale spoke with UMS community and audience programs manager Justine Sedky about the partnerships that will bring to life the creativity of the community on April 19th.

Kat Edmonson is an award-winning songwriter and singer "with an equal foothold in jazz, cabaret and vintage cosmopolitanism pop" (The New York Times). She has been featured on Austin City Limits, Tiny Desk Concerts, A Prairie Home Companion, and The Late Show. She joined WEMU's John Bommarito on "The Song Break" to talk about her new music and her upcoming appearance at The Ark in Ann Arbor.

Was has formed a new band called the Pan-Detroit Ensemble, and they're coming to play the Blue LLama Jazz Club in Ann Arbor in February 2025.
