The Ypsilanti Community Choir has made it its mission to bring quality music to the area for more than 30 years. The choir encourages people of all ages and from all walks of life to join, whether experienced singers, or those who like to sing in the shower! A long list of musicians will gather at The Ark on Sunday for a very special evening. It's a celebration of Dick Siegel and his music. For more than 40 years, Siegel has graced area stages, providing a unique voice and musical presence. Each of the performers on Sunday will play a selection from Siegel's catalogue, and more than 20 pieces will be represented. It was Dick’s Siegel’s request that all proceeds benefit The Ark. Two of the participating performers are George Bedard and Mr. B. They joined WEMU's David Fair to discuss the impact of Dick Siegel and share their connections.

The Ypsilanti Bourbon Fest is coming to the Michigan Firehouse Museum on January 17. The event provides a sampling of high-end whiskeys and bourbon from both local and national distilleries, as well as great food and live music. Lee Van Roth gives a preview of the 2026 Bourbon Fest with the event's organizer, Paul Starr.

The 2025 Blacksmith Shop Concert Series in Manchester takes place in the historic site of a former wagon factory. Built in 1877 by a group of stonemasons, the building was turned into a blacksmith shop. Eventually purchased by the Manchester Area Historical Society, it now operates as a museum where blacksmiths still practice their craft. WEMU’s Caroline MacGregor talks to violinist Grant Flick about the Blacksmith Shop Concert Series.
