After 60 years in operation, the Snow Health Center at Eastern Michigan University will close on November 1st.  In its place, Integrated Healtcare Associates will open a new private center on campus on November 4th called IHA Health Center @ EMU.  Ellen Gold is assistant Vice President of Student Affairs at Eastern and says the Snow Center currently has a skeleton crew because the university has been phasing the center out during the last couple of years.

Ellen Gold: Majority of them have left for other positions in the county, and we have some taking the retirement plan.

Gold says only two current Snow Center employees will remain after the closure and will have the option to keep working at Eastern in another department.
