The City of Ypsilanti is putting a hold on setting its budget goals for the next fiscal year until they have a better idea on how the COVID-19 crisis will impact their operations.
The city expects to see about a $750,000 drop in their $15 million budget. But Mayor Beth Bashert says they need more information on what departments may get hit the hardest because of the crisis. She says that could impact projects they already had in mind.
"Adding to our public safety staffing, looking at some additions to our DPS departments, and possible recycling interchanges and improvements to our recycling program."
Both the city managerand treasurer are working on getting more details for council, so they can vote on their goals in May.
