WISD Expecting Decreased Revenue

Washtenaw Intermediate School District

The Washtenaw Intermediate School District expects to receive less state revenue sharing this year as a result of COVID-19.

District Superintendent Scott Menzel says they will have a better idea of what the financial loss will be on May 15th.  That’s when the state will host a “Consensus Revenue Estimating Conference” that provides financial projections for school aid.  However, Menzel says the district is already considering some options.

"What vacant positions are we not going to fill? What other reductions can be put in place without harming the services and support for the student we serve?"

Last year, the district received about $2 million in state revenue sharing.
